What is CLAT?
Ans. CLAT stands for ‘Common Law Admission
Test’. CLAT is the result of Supreme Court
directive and consensus among Law schools and
has taken effect form May 2008.

Ans. Question Paper for CLAT is of objective pattern
possibly with four alternates to choose within.
There is no negative marking in CLAT.

Ans. Total Marks - 200, Total

6. What are the eligibility criteria for
CLAT?
Ans. The eligibility criteria of a candidate for
admission to Degree Courses in Law through CLAT
is –
(a)
10+2 Examination or equivalent with not less
than 50% marks for General and 45% marks for
SC/ST/OBC* and Persons with Disability*. (Students
taking qualifying examination in March/April
are also eligible to apply).
(b)
Not more than 20 years in case of General and
22 years in case of SC/ST/OBC* and persons with
disability* as on 1st July.
*Subject to reservation at the University concerned.

Why last years question papers of NLS, NALSAR
& NUJS are not sent, only Answer key is available?
Ans. NLSIU or any other University is only authorised
to sell its past question Paper and you must obtain

17. Do I need to have mathematics as a
subject in class XII? How will it Effect if I
am from other stream?
Ans. There is nothing to panic if you do not have
mathematics as optional in class XII. Reason is
that mathematics asked in law entrance exam is
mostly simple commercial mathematics taught in
class X.

What about ILS, Pune / Government Law Collage,
Mumbai/Delhi University Law Faculty ?
