1. What is CLAT?

Ans. CLAT stands for ‘Common Law Admission Test’. CLAT is the result of Supreme Court directive and consensus among Law schools and has taken effect form May 2008.

2. Which Law Schools Participate In CLAT Exams and who sets the examination paper?

Ans. The list of Laws Schools is as below

Examination will be conducted every year by each of national law schools in rotation as per criterion of seniority.

 

3. How many seats are available in National Law schools?

Ans. The availability of seats in National law schools is as follows:-

4. What is the pattern for CLAT? Will CLAT have negative marking?

Ans. Question Paper for CLAT is of objective pattern possibly with four alternates to choose within. There is no negative marking in CLAT.

5. How many questions will appear & what is the weight age of marks for individual Subjects?

Ans. Total Marks - 200,
Total number of questions - 200
The Subjects & weight age of marks for individual subjects is as follows:

General Knowledge - 50
Mathematics - 20
Legal General Awareness - 45
Logical Reasoning - 45

6. What are the eligibility criteria for CLAT?

Ans. The eligibility criteria of a candidate for admission to Degree Courses in Law through CLAT is –

 

(a) 10+2 Examination or equivalent with not less than 50% marks for General and 45% marks for SC/ST/OBC* and Persons with Disability*. (Students taking qualifying examination in March/April are also eligible to apply).

(b) Not more than 20 years in case of General and 22 years in case of SC/ST/OBC* and persons with disability* as on 1st July.
*Subject to reservation at the University concerned.

14. What is the fees structure for CLAT preparation? How do I subscribe for it?

15. By what time will my study material be dispatched?

Ans. In Normal Course one gets the Ist phase of study material within 7 days after realization of your payment. We also keep in touch through mails and telephonic conversations.

16. Why last years question papers of NLS, NALSAR & NUJS are not sent, only Answer key is available?

Ans. NLSIU or any other University is only authorised to sell its past question Paper and you must obtain it directly form them. For address detail visit our website section ‘TOP LAW SCHOOLS’. We can also help you by providing our own model Answer to the papers.


17. Do I need to have mathematics as a subject in class XII? How will it Effect if I am from other stream?

Ans. There is nothing to panic if you do not have mathematics as optional in class XII. Reason is that mathematics asked in law entrance exam is mostly simple commercial mathematics taught in class X.

18. What about ILS, Pune / Government Law Collage, Mumbai/Delhi University Law Faculty ?
