Oscars 2019: Full List of Winners at the 91st Academy Awards

           Academy Awards 2019: Green Book won Best Film Oscar while Alfonso Cuaron collected Best Director Prize

The 91st Academy Awards concluded in Los Angeles with Regina King taking home the first award – Best Supporting Actress for her work in If Beale Street Could Talk. Alfonso Cuaron won Best Director for Roma, which also won Best Foreign Film and Best Cinematography. Best Picture, however, was taken by Green Book, which also won Best Supporting Actor for Mahershala Ali and Best Original Screenplay. Olivia Colman won Best Actress for playing Queen Anne in The Favourite, beating the redoubtable Glenn Close. Rami Malek won Best Actor for his performance as Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, which also won sound and editing awards. Crowd favourite Black Panther scored wins for Best Original Score, Best Costume Design and Best Production Design. Shallow from A Star Is Born won Best Original Song, with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper performing it live. The Guneet Monga-producedPeriod. End Of Sentence, set in India, won Best Documentary Short.

 

The Oscars opened with a performance by Queen and Adam Lambert. Two films lead the nomination roster – Roma and The Favourite, both competing for Best Picture and other major Oscars, have 10 nominations each. The recipients of this year’s honorary Oscars are actress Cicely Tyson, composer Lalo Schifrin and publicist Marvin Levy while producers Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall receive the Irving G Thalberg Memorial Award.

The Oscars have been mired in controversy this year, from the lack of a host after Kevin Hart withdrew over homophobic tweets to a reversed decision to present four awards in commercial breaks.

Best Documentary Short: Period. End Of Sentence

Best Live Action Short: Skin

Best Animated Short: Bao

Best Cinematography: Alfonso Cuaron for Roma

Best Production Design: Black Panther

Best Costume Design: Black Panther

Best Hair And Makeup: Vice

Best Sound Editing: Bohemian Rhapsody
